Sledding 2010

I know, I know. It's 2011. But it's been a busy week so I'm back-tracking a bit.

Last Sunday night it started to snow. And snow. And snow. So sledding we did go. I'm happy that they boys still enjoy the quiet Vanderbilt park (a few blocks walk from the house.) It won't be long before that hill won't be tall or steep enough for them, but for now, they enjoy it still. It's never too crowded because it's tucked into the neighborhood. And if someone else is there, it's likely we know them.

Magoo got to try out his snow ski that we scored at the AWESOMEST TAG SALE EVER this summer. Oh, we've been sitting on that baby - just waiting to pull it out.

As one might imagine - it's a bit tricky. Magoo has never done anything like that, so after a few mildly successful tries, he was ready to return to the simplicity of a sled.

We went out both Monday and Tuesday, with different friends each time. It was so good to be outside. I'm used to holing up in the cold. (Although the wind was a touch wicked on Monday.) And after many climbs up the hill and many journeys down, we returned home plumb tuckered out.

And if you were a boy and you were very, very lucky - you may have gotten a ride home.

(But not from me. That was Sara. Sucker!)

Sledding has been pretty fun this year so far even if it only lasted a few days. Hey is that tag sale an annual thing?

Ang - no it wasn't one of those town tag sales, it was just at a house that was blocked by the marathon. No one could get to it by car. Magoo and I had to park several blocks away and walk. As a result, no one was there and we got to go around leisurely looking and picking through things. And it was a richie's house so they had NICE STUFF! It was like finding gold at the end of the rainbow!
